Summary: This research is driven by a reflection on white raciality and its responsibility in the deconstruction of racism within the context of school education. In a society historically marked by whitening projects, eugenic theories, and the myth of racial democracy, racism tends to remain associated with Black populations, being understood as a “Black problem”. In this scenario, the focus of this investigation is expressed in the following question: How does the discourse of whiteness manifest in digital teacher training books for the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER), and in what way does it influence pedagogical practices in state education units in Espírito Santo? The overall goal is to problematize the discourse of whiteness in these digital books. The theoretical framework is mainly based on studies on whiteness by Maria Aparecida da Silva Bento (2002), Lourenço Cardoso (2008), and Lia Vainer Schucman (2012), articulated with the contributions of Kabengele Munanga (2005; 2015), Petronilha Beatriz Gonçalves e Silva (2007), and Nilma Lino Gomes (2005; 2017), as well as the National Curricular Guidelines for the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations. Regarding the methodology, in addition to Content Analysis, as proposed by Bardin (1977), a questionnaire was applied to the Management of Anti-Racist, Rural, and Quilombola Education. The analysis resulted in the construction of two categories: The first identifies whiteness as an organized set of practices, values, and discourses that act in the production and preservation of privileges and racial hierarchies; and the second explores the factors that pressure whiteness, thus opening the possibility of alliances in confronting racism. The research resulted in the development of an educational product in the format of a training e-book, entitled Whiteness and ERER: Possible Dialogues, designed with the aim of expanding spaces for dialogue and deepening the discussion on whiteness in teacher training for ERER.
